Need help confirming this is a real Aria Pro II PJ Standard

Hi, everyone!

I have been offered an 1983 Aria Pro II PJ bass as a trade. I am not familiar with the brand and I would really love if someone could help me confirming a couple of things:
1) Is this the real thing? (supposedly manufactured in Japan. The plate states so, but still I wanted to make sure)...and no visible serial number, apparently.
2) If it is the real think, how much would it be worth, and, is it good? I know these basses have a great following but I have not found too much information about this particular model.

Thanks, all!

I have an RSB standard from the same era, also MIJ with a reverse P pup, no pick guard. Very heavy solid brass bridge as opposed to the Fender bent plate. This looks later than mine but I don't get why anyone would fake it.

Thanks, ajkula66. Well, the trade is for a bass that I have that I am selling for around $680 US. Just want to make sure it would be a fair trade

You may want to check at the Aria club where the cats "in the know" hang out, but I feel that this bass won't bring that amount of money. They are simply not well-known/popular enough. IMO.

Yes, Aria. Yes, MIJ. Nice-looking as well. Let's see whether all of that gets someone to part with more than $500.

Colour me skeptical.

Good luck.

This looks 100% authentic apart from the knobs which appear aftermarket. I am missing the serial number on this bass which would normally be on the neck plate but I some similar Aria basses on Reverb with an identical neck plate. These were cheap basses and the necks may not be flawless (usually nothing a good fret job can't fix) but they have a great sound. Shouldn't cost over €400,-
