Need help fixing a static issue please

Hey guys I need some help, there's a weird static noise coming from bass when plugged in and the amp is on. It's a static noise until I touch the strings or the input Jack then it goes away. I tried multiple cables and both my amps and it's still there so I assume it's coming from the bass. The bass is Schecter stiletto stealth 4 string. There's not any guitar shops around me without driving an hour so I wanted to try here first. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Sounds like the culprit if it's hiss is likely the Active electronics/pre

Not if the noise goes away when you touch the strings. Sometimes the kind of noise as expressed by the original poster can be alleviated with a thorough shielding.

It's actually crackling static

Yep. Shielding or grounding issue.
