Need help with Neck or Bridge

Hi All,

Im currently building an LP Bass using the actual LP Blueprints.
The schematics say that it is planned for a 34" scale neck, however I cannot find any online that are paddle headed with or have inlays already.
What I have found is some good Eden short scale necks for 30".

So my questions are:

1. anywhere to go for a good 34" neck
2. or go with 30", but then how do I adjust for the scale difference for the bridge? Does it need to be brought forward or back?

Which ever scale length you choose the bridge needs to be 17” for a 34” scale or 15” for a 30” scale from the 12th fret or the scale length distance from the inside edge of the nut to the bridge. What I usually do on a bass is to set the G saddle about 3/4 of the way towards the neck that it will go, set that point on the scale length mark, center the bridge, double check everything, go away for an hour or two, come back and check everything again, mark out the holes and drill.

eden makes (imports?) good necks. i have a nice 34" scale fretless neck of theirs --- they're not always available on the eden site, but i'd contact/nudge them and let them know that you (and others....e.g., me! ) would be interested in that scale. eden is pretty good about email responses and they could give you an idea re: their up-and-coming intentions.

and i've recently noticed some 'paddles' on ebay, too (i was searching for fretless). good luck with your project!
