Hey guys, I've been playing guitar for around 4 months, and recently have joined a band as a bassist. As I've never played bass before, I don't have any gear at all, and will need a new bass and an amp setup.
Initially I wanted to restrict my budget to 700AUD (I'm from Australia so keep that in mind), but after some research I realised my initial plan of a fender rumble 40 watt is definitely not gonna work.
The music is psychedelic rock, think phasers, loud drums etc. We've had one rehearsal so far and it was definitely loud enough to need earplugs, it was essentially full volume drums, 2 guitars, vocals and bass. I've seen conflicting advice, but overall seems like I'll need at least 200 watts to be able to play comfortably at a garage rehearsal.
It seems I'll need to buy used, but I know nothing about cabs and heads. What would you guys recommend? Ideally Facebook marketplace or gumtree would be ideal so I don't have to pay shipping, as some amps on reverb have up to $1000 shipping. Doesn't seem to be many options on marketplace however.
