Hi! I’m kinda new here.
I’ve been playing bass for a while and I’m about to buy a new bass. I currently use a Warwick rockbass, with a MB cab 2x10, and Eden 264 head. I play often classic rock and metal, so I’m Ok with the Warwick. But I recently started in a blues / funk project , and I feel I need a clearer/brighter sound. I use 5 strings so I would like to stay 5, my budget is not that much (700 to 1000 dlls) and I live in Mexico so my chances of getting something good/affordable are not exactly high.
I’ve played a japanese fender Marcus Miller, liked it but I would like to hear about other brands. I’ve heard good things about musicman stingray, and Lakland. I need something versatile I could really use for heavy stuff as well.
Hope someone could give a recomendation :)

I have a StingRay 5, and absolutely love it.

The trick will be for you to find a used one in your budget that you can test drive to see how you like it.

If you can't find an EBMM StingRay, the Sterling 'Rays are pretty badass and for the most part, within your budget.

This is probably breaking some TalkBass rule, but...
Do you really need a new bass?
Would different strings give the sound you're after?
Maybe look at getting a different amp. That Eden's what, 250w? Maybe something with more power and headroom.

Of course, if you're set on a new bass, just ignore me.:)
