Shipping prices for instruments are astronomical. I’m never gonna pay to ship an instrument again. $380 cross country is diabolical.

It was all through UPS ground, so yes since i purchased the insurance. Knocking on wood, i've never had to test the insurance yet, and from the horror stories I've read I hope I never have to...***?!?!? And they cover the price of stuff for your full declared value if it gets lost or broken?!?!?
Just sold a P bass with gig bag and shipped from Santa Rosa, CA to Texas. Buyer supplied UPS label through Ship Station, 2nd Day Air. Cost was $70. Don't know how but seems it is possible...tracking says it will arrive tomorrow.Did you use pirate ship? Is that a shipping service (UPS, etc), or common carrier freight line (J B Hunt, etc)?Just bought a 1x10 cab on Ebay Shipping from California to Maryland for $ 15.00 .
I buy basses in...halves. Bodies and necks from Warmoth. Each half ships across the country for about $20 - $40 total. If you take the neck off a bass and ship it in 2 boxes like Warmoth does, You could save enough money in shipping to buy a REALLY nice gig bag for carrying it around once it gets where it's going.
They really jack up the price for longer boxes (for no rational reason)!
You're going to take the neck off of a $8k MTD and ship it in two boxes? Don't think the buyer is going to get any chuckles out of that.I buy basses in...halves. Bodies and necks from Warmoth. Wow! I pay less than that to ship a bass from America to New Zealand! Via USPS. But to be fair, they remove the neck to make the box smaller.Shipping prices for instruments are astronomical. I’m never gonna pay to ship an instrument again. $380 cross country is diabolical.
