So, I have been searching for a good stand alone 210 for a while now and I did quite a bit of research. I needed something that could cut through and hold its own at practice, smaller gigs and even bigger gigs when using the DI or mic'd. It needed to be somewhat lightweight and small enough to fit in my Ford Focus hatchback along with my 4 space rack. I would be running the cab with my GK 400rb (4ohm/200watts)

Everyone kept telling me to check out the 4 ohm Carvin BRX 10.2 NEO. Most older threads I read, seemed to mention this cab as well. So my search began...

Long story short, I started searching for one but this was kind of hard. Since most people were hanging on to them, they aren't made anymore and shipping rates are ridiculous. I found some people selling them on other websites but either shipping was outrageous or they were pick up only. I did not want to drive 8 hours, one way...

I can happily say that I found one, I just paid $300 shipped for it. Barely used and in great condition. Plus free returns, if I am not happy with it. I am so pumped right now...

Its used but it's new to me!

Debating on getting the Carvin BX500 amp now as well. I have read/heard great things about it...
I upgraded from the BX 500 to the BX 1600, both amps are fantastic & very overlooked & underrated. Get one.

Carvin makes cabinets that offer a really great value (the whole fEarful “movement” started with modding a Carvin PA cab) and their amps were a great cost/value offering.

I say “were” because – as has been pointed out – Carvin has stopped making or supporting their amps.
Still, I’ve been far less impressed by their amps than by their cabs.

Your GK400RB, on the other hand, is one of the classic bass amps.
There’s a good reason you can find tons of them everywhere – many of them have been going strong for decades despite being beat to snot and driven to clipping every night.

The GK400RB is a great amp, so I doubt you'll have any problems. That said, I have a BX500 with rack ears that I've been keeping around as a backup amp for a bit. It's also been a great amp to me. Very impressive EQ and it's only 6 lbs.

If you decide you do want a BX500, let me know. We can probably work something out.

For sure, I love my 400rb, it’s a great amp. I was just thinking about the BX500 because of a lot of good reviews and the power.

My new cab can handle 600 watts, my current head only pushes 200. Which I think will be enough for most things I will do.

As for the cab, I can’t ignore how many people love the BRX 10.2 cabinet. As a stand alone or paired with something else.

Here is the cab! It’s in excellent condition and sounds amazing! I am debating on relocatin the Carvin logo and the rubber feet to make this a vertical cab. Any thoughts on that?
