Use the pickguard that gives it the best timbre, IMHO no pickguard sounds better.

I kind of like it, but am thinking mint or better yet gold anodized. Maybe even a regular creme as opposed to pearloid? I dunno.

It's a cliche, and a running joke on here, but seriously...Tort.
Just my .02 but for me the white & off white pearloid just doesn't 'gel'. Like picking two colors that don't match even though they're both blue.
Couldn't help but notice in the title of your thread you said new Fender Precision, is this a new Fender or an older Fender you are putting together?
The pickguard looks good.

The Order of the Tort will always be there for you. If not, black pearl or similar.
With the rosewood board, I'd probably go with brown tort. With maple, I like the pearloid, white, black, or mint.
Agree that it needs more contrast. It's like mixing two shades of Khaki or Khaki and sand (color).

Sorry, but once I could see beyond the string spacing... three ply black.
