after months of saving, hours at music shops, and countless hours research through TB and other online sites/forums I finally upgraded my rig.

Ampeg SVT-7 Pro with two Ashdown ABM 408 Neo cabs.

I haven't fully unleashed this beast yet (that'll happen at practice on Monday) but so far I couldn't be happier with the sounds I'm getting from it. Super, super punchy with some nice lows and crystal clear.

I wanna thank all the TBers that have posted about Ashdown and Ampeg, you guys definitely helped with making an informed decision, and all the sound advice and opinions have been fantastic.

So I just got back from jamming with the new rig with the band. All i can say is *wow*. I'm super stoked about this set up. The 8s really hold up well, from the highs to the lows...very solid, crazy punchy, and crystal clear. The SVT-7 as everyone knows here is a beast ( if you're an Ampeg lover, of course) I definitely was a tad apprehensive pushing it just in case something were to happen, but it seems solid...peaking like crazy even with the gain only at around 9, but I attribute that to my pickups being a bit high.

All in all, an amazing rig. I couldn't be happier.

Congrats. 8's are a different beast. I once played through an SWR Henry the 8th. The sound pressure from that thing caused my ears to hurt :). Yup you'll have punch for days.
