new two step verification

Perhaps I'm reading this incorrectly, but I do not like the idea of requiring re-verification of each device every 30 days.

Me either. Price you pay these days I guess, maybe? So much hacking and crap. Not like the good old days.

If you don't have a smartphone, I wouldn't bother with it. If you do have a smartphone, I think you'll find that it's going to increasingly become your "key" to your accounts. In my google authenticator app, I have 9 different account keys that I use for my online bank account, gmail, microsoft account, etc. I don't mind it, the security it adds is enormous, and it only takes a few seconds to type in the 6-digit code that the app spits out.

Well, sadly I followed directions and set it up on my home computer this morning. Now it will not let me get on, says to enter the code that has been sent but that code of course is now no longer valid as fifteen minutes has passed, and there does not seem to be any way I can request a new code. I am currently writing this on my work computer, don't know what will happen when I switch this one off - I thought I had ticked the box to stay on with my home computer.
Help - is there any way I can remove the two-step verification? I wish I had never heard of it. Alternatively, how do you request an email of a new access code?
Edit: I just found the disable button so have disabled it on this computer, so hopefully same should apply also to my home computer.
Memo to self: Don't blindly follow internet advice.

No worries, just don't use two-step :) I wouldn't use it without a smartphone and a code generator app like Google Authenticator. That way you always have fresh code if you need it, and you don't have to worry about emails getting through.
