Hello,

I’m planning on assembling (via a build kit) my first bass in the near future. I’m looking to do something like the blue bass pictured but in shell pink. My trouble is I’m having difficulty finding a body in that style that is routed for P bass pickups (see link below). I don’t have the tools/feel confident enough to do the routing myself. I’m hoping someone has a recommendation or advice on where look look besides having a custom body built by Warmoth.

Where are you located? There are a few TB builders who take on custom stuff. They can't speak up and offer themselves though (violates the rules), so we have to recommend them to you instead... :)

I’m in Ohio.

But I’m thinking I’ll just work off of that kit (from the link) and go with the humbucker type pickup. It’ll be my first build and I’m not expecting to gig with the instrument anyway so the sound isn’t that important I suppose.

Ummm, then what, exactly, do you see as the point of building your own? While there are certainly folks who pay a lot more attention to "looks" than function, that's not a priority structure that is often lauded around here...

Whether or not you plan to gig with it, compromising the way it sounds (.vs. what you want - you obviously have an idea in mind) seems like a strange choice when building a musical instrument.

Well it’s my first time doing this, more of a trial run. I don’t want to spend a lot on something custom-made just to find out I don’t enjoy the project. Thanks for answering the question though...
