Hey guys, recently acquired a Hartke 1410 combo that had some issues with the input jack so I decided to see what I could use from it and make it my own. I removed the amplifier from the cabinet and found that the enclosure and speaker were pretty light without the 12 pound amp inside. Checked the speaker and it’s a 4ohm and in great condition. So I tried it with my Elf and wow, it sounds amazing and all together only weighs about 30 pounds. I like Trace Elliot green, so I tried to match it up and painted the grill to match after removing the badges. Going to paint the inside of the top of the cab black and use it as a storage spot for cables and the elf. Here’s before and after so far...

that's a good look! it'd be too much work, but if one stripped off the carpet, sanded it down a bit, and then applied a liner-type coating...i'd rock that :):woot::bassist:
That's exactly what I was considering, since I don't really like the "fur" anyway. I was either going to get some tolex or do a tough coating like you mentioned. I think it would be super cool!

Looking good.

Were it me, I would paint the Amp shelf interior black and make up brackets to mount the Elf head inside.

If you want that space as storage, access from the rear.
Great idea, I was only concerned with airflow for the ELF, I'm running it 4ohm and don't want it to get too hot, I may be worrying about something that isn't a problem though. I haven't had the Elf long, so I need to test it out a little. There is an abundance of room even with the ELF inside the compartment for some storage of cords and picks and such, so that might be an elegant solution for a rowdy little cab!

Did some more work last night; added a jack plate and 1/4" speaker jack to the back of the box and while I had the speaker removed I added some damping material to the inner walls. I also spray painted (black) the bare wood section where the combo amp head used to live. I will get some new pics up tonight. I am loving this thing, it sounds amazing and the ELF drives it hard at 4ohm. I may change back the the grill to black or another dark color, but the green is fun for now and looks good up close.
