Online bass classes

Hello there! So I have been playing bass self taught for a couple years but I feel like I'm at my max potential when I'm learning by myself and I want to enroll on some classes, unfortunately my job doesn't have a steady schedule that allows me to have a weekly lesson and I thought about SBL or something like that, what it's your opinion? Do you think it's worth it and it can really improve me as a bass player?

Hey man!
Sure, they can be valuable and help, but any in-person interaction with a teacher will be better.
It really depends on your learning style, how much and how you practice, and your willingness to slow down and shore up essentials.
But yeah - lots of online courses are worth it.
See what you vibe with and just go for it.
Good luck!

If you are serious about improving your bass playing then a teacher \ mentor can be great at getting you to the next level when you feel that you've hit a block for whatever reason.

Perhaps take a look at some videos from With Bass In Mind (Phil Mann) to see if you like his style. He does a lot of stuff for SBL but also does online lessons. You don't get a regular schedule with Phil. You'll do a lesson and get some homework and then you have to submit a video of you doing the exercises before you can book another lesson. So it can be as flexible as you need.

For online lessons; if you prefer non-subscription based options then Talking Bass is great. Check out the You Tube channels for examples of Mark and his teaching style.

I don't like Scotts Bass Lessons and much prefer Mark Smith's TalkingBass.net
Mark's you tube lesson playlists are very logically organized and free.
Mark does not waste time on hyperbolic chatter or sensationalism like Scott often seems to.

That said, many people do like SBL and it threads like this pop up with advertising-like levels of frequency
Here's some past threads on SBL

I enjoy Scott talking about bass stuff with that other guy, but he's an algo clickbait machine but I thought i'd check out his site as I wanna brush up on my fundementals. Unfortunately, it's a huge turn off when a website offers you a free trial but isn't up front with the costs. His videos are always some ******** title and never getting to the point, just endless waffle, so i'm out.
