Thinking about swapping out all gold for chrome. This will include:
-badass 2 bridge
-Fender reverse vintage tuners
-chrome knobs
Should I leave it as-is or would chrome just look way better? Is gold a bit outdated?
Thanks!

IMO, gold hardware works best on painted, monochromatic basses...and to really pull it off ALL the hardware needs to be gold. White, black and red tend to look the best. There are certainly exceptions to this, and I also don't have a problem with gold hardware that's aged, pitted and oxidized so long as it's OG.

Gold. Recently changed all of the hardware on a white precision to gold. Looks great from about 6 ft away. Any further and it's unnoticeable. So, it looks great from where I'm standing as I'm playing it, but no one else would even notice. IMHO, not worth it. The only reason I did it was that I wanted to put better tuners on it and figured it wouldn't be much more to replace the bridge.

I'd leave it as is. And I'm not generally a fan of gold hardware. But on that bass, it works really well. That one's butterscotch baby! Butterscotch!!!:thumbsup:

I think gold looks best on natural finishes. If I were to change it to update the look, I would go with black hardware, not chrome. Why doesn't anybody make colored hardware? That would be different.
