I saw a thread on this here on TB a while back, and have searched extensively and could not recover it - so here's the question again.
The question is in the context of adding a Series/Parallel switch for a Jazz-type bass with two single-coils.
Someone on the thread mentioned that which of the coils comes "first" in the series wiring will influence the amount of hum/noise you get, if your hand is over that particular pickup.
So the recommendation was to put one of the coils first, depending on where the usual playing position is. The poster said something along the lines of: " if you typically play over pickup ________ then then you should put the _____ pickup first."
Problem is - I forgot what the relationship between the hum & position in the chain was.
Any clarification (or pointing me back to that thread) would be greatly appreciated.
