I was thinking as I read the MM Customer Service nightmare thread, gee, I should speak to the great service that I recently got with Nordstrand.

I have a pair of the NJ5FS units in my AM STD Jazz V. Love 'em. Always have, always will.

The bridge pup started sounding really strange one night, thankfully at a rehearsal. I called Nord, they said to send it in for a look-see, and in a couple of days, they said the pup had a problem and were sending me another one USPS Priority. No cost to me. No request for documents (they might have had me on file), no questions asked.

Can't think of any other description of that than outstanding. Thanx, Nord guys.

I agree 1,000%

Nordstrand service is top notch.

I have an old set of NJ4SE in my jazz that I have owned for years. Last winter I bought a wireless setup that boosted my input slightly. The result was a strange pop, no matter how low I set the gain. I swapped pickups with some spare pups I had, and no pop.

I sent Nordstrand an email and Cary responded personally, over Christmas week! We exchanged a few pictures and emails, and he said to send them in. I told them that I've had the pickups for many years and I fully expected to pay of any service or replacement. About a week later I received a brand new set in the mail with no charge on the slip.

I contacted Norstrand CS and told them I didn't expect the service for free. They replied, Cary say no charge.

All of this while they were getting ready for NAMM. Their whole crew were very responsive, and never made me feel like they didn't believe me.

I am now in the process of converting my basses with Norstrand pups.

Thanks Nordstrand!

I bought a set of their NJ4SV split-coil J pickups second-hand here on Talkbass back in 2008 and Carey himself went back and forth with me for three or four emails helping me get a grounding issue with one of the pole-pieces sorted. I hadn't even directly contributed money to their bottom line at that point.

The strength of that goodwill (in addition to damn fine, solid engineering) was a strong motivator in my decision to give the Nordstrand 3b preamp a try recently. I've been nothing but supremely pleased with their products, and I'm reasonably certain that I'll be utilizing their electronics when I eventually get a fretless.

He custom made some 16mm Six String Fat Stacks for me. When I go them, I was all excited and took them out of the box to marvel at their beauty. Who knew that the boxes were marked Neck and Bridge. I sent an email and he called me and described the difference in the pole placements so I could figure out what was what. Everyone I dealt with at that place was awesome.
Nordstrand Love!
