Palmer Pocket Amp Bass

I'm considering one of these Palmer Bass Pocket Amps... Has anybody used one of these as a DI pedal or to play through headphones? Thoughts?

Sounds good on YouTube, but I've made that mistake before. So I had a VT Bass DI. I loved both the cab sim, as well as how clear it could be, but for practicing at home I need something with a headphone out and an aux in. So I got the Ampeg SCR-DI. It does what I need for practice, but I really don't like the way it sounds when I engage the pedal. Funny how sansamp seems to do Ampeg better than Ampeg. Lol

So I've been considering this. Pretty much anything with a aux in and headphone out will do just fine, but I would like a fairly clean DI as well, with just some tone settings. This looks to be like a good option but it never hurts to get opinions first. (Unless they are all over the place which they often are )

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have wanted to try out the Palmer but still haven't had a chance. I primarily use a Zoom B1 Four for practice. It has a headphone out, aux in, effects, amp sims, tuner, looper AND a drum machine. :) Works great and the sounds are quite good especially for under $100. Lately I've been using my sons Fender Mustang Micro. Less cables/cords and you can stream songs with Bluetooth. Makes for a very convenient setup! Lots of options these days for silent practice!

Hope this helps,
Brent

I use the guitar version of Pocket Amp with guitar and bass and it's a great little tool for practicing. This probably doesn't help you, though.
When I'm using it with bass I usually use either the US (Mesa/Boogie) or Vintage (Fender) on low gain mode and especially with the Fender I have to turn up the bass.

I'll probably get the bass version as well, put of curiosity.

The Pocket Amp sure packs a lot of functionality into a small box. I've found it to be convenient for, say, hotel room practice, since it will run on a 9V battery. For a gig board there are even better options at a competitive price, like the NU-X MLD preamp.
