I have a Fender Rumble 200 combo (currently brand new thanks to warranty replacement) and I decided to buy a Panama Professional Series 2x10 cab from an all used music store. The guy who processed that cab return said it was brand new, so i’m not concerned about it being labeled “used”. The guy gave it to me for a super cheap deal - i only paid $30 for it with a trade. I did minimal research about Panama Guitars products and they seem to be fairly mid-high quality products, but i’ve personally never even heard of Panama Guitars before. Does anyone happen to have any knowledge or experience with this brand?

Update: I’ve finally gotten the chance to really play through it with the Rumble 200 combo. The Panama cab adds a lot of punch and power for mids, but it kind of has a muddy, beaten sound on the low end. Though to be fair, I am with using a 5-string Ibanez GSR 205 with the bass booster on the body turned to 7-10 depending on the song. It certainly adds a ton of volume and shakes my whole house. I was surprised I didn’t get a visit from the cops.

I don’t know anything about this brand, but maybe it’s a discontinued model based on what I’m seeing on the reverb store. Do you happen to know how many ohms it is?

I also looked at their official website with no results for Bass. :banghead:

Be careful with your extreme lows, turn the bass knob down when you hear that stressing "beaten" sound.

It’s more almost like a smaller version of those. It’s 150w and 4 ohms with 2x10 ceramic drivers.

Those were what I was referring to when I mentioned seeing them on Reverb. I noticed some were 4 ohms so I was curious how many ohms the OP’s was.

It could be a different model, I know last year they started making bass cabs, and they redesigned them for this year. Or maybe they did that from 2016 to 2017. Either way.

It’s really only that beaten sound on that low B. I turned the bass booster down and I turned gain to about 12 o’clock and then turned the bass and low mid eq’s to about 1-2 o’clock. That gave the sound a more defined low end without that beaten sound. I’ll have to try it out the next time I’m at band practice and see how it all fits into the mix.

Floating tropical tonewood baffle for superior transient response

That's certainly the fanciest way to say "it's made out of driftwood we found on the beach and it smells like dead fish" I'VE ever heard.

And a 50 lb 150w 16ohm bass 2x10? No thanks. I'll keep my 37 pound 375w 8 ohm Genz Shuttle 210.

Your amp's speaker out is rated for 8 ohms minimum.

DO NOT USE THAT 4 OHM CAB ANY MORE!

YOUR AMP WILL BLOW UP!
As you are now running 2.67 ohms into that amp, there will be no warranty replacement.

Honestly, I almost expected something like this in the back of my mind. I only paid $30 for it so this isn’t at all a big loss. Being near brand new, I bet I can still turn it for some extra cash on ebay.
