Paul McCartney vs John Entwistle

I would say John because he's battle tested and Paul basically turned into a studio musician during the time he wrote his most complex basslines I'm also pretty sure his favorite instrument of the forty he can play is the piano. I will add that in 1965 his favorite band was The Who.
Man, your poll is terribly presented. What should I choose if the answer is Paul to one question ("which style is more commonly used?") and John to the other (which is the better bassist?)?
Altho' I (and probably many 'round here) consider Entwistle to be a more gifted and eclectical bassist I think his style is not as widespread as Macca's.
For me it's CARROTS, makes exactly the same sense as this "poll".

Both...the soundtrack to my life could not have been written without both of them!
Pretty sure this thread is a violation of forum rules. Definitely sure that it is not a useful question.
Both are HIGHLY overrated in my opinion, especially here on TB.
Slightly prefer McCartney's melodic lines over what ever Entwistle was doing.

I'm a huge Beatles fan...that said, The Who, in a live setting, are one of the best '60s Rock bands.

I think as a bassist, Entwistle but as an all round musician, McCartney by a mile
Both are huge links in the bass chain and both were equally important, to me anyway. Playing like McCartney will get you more work as a bassist than Entwistle though.
Entwistle was clearly better on french horn.
In a fight i'd bet on Ox every time.. cept hes dead now

Silly, but okay, I'll bite:
My hair used to stand up listening to Live at Leeds, but really there's no contest - Entwistle just wasn't in McCartney's league. Entwistle employed pentatonics very cleverly, with a unique high energy delivery, but taken as a body of work McCartney's playing was just masterful in every phase.

In chops and licks and jaw dropping awesomeness I'd give it to Entwistle.
In creating tasteful lines that *perfectly* fit the song... McCartney.

As for which style is more commonly used it depends on which genre you are talking about. In metal and prog the ox is more of an influence than MacCartny for sure.
