When people think of America Rock Bossa it's usually in terms of "Song For My Father" and even "Rikki Don't Lose That Number." The Brazilian Bossa Nova tradition began much more gently then that and evolved in ways which are rarely explored or publicized in the US. One place it has arrived is the music which Ms. Souza and the trio explore here, which owes as much to The Bill Evans Trio as it does to Jacob do Bandolim.
