Hey guys, I just switched from my orange terror bass 500amp to peavey mark III ('78 - rly good buy). I was wondering, can these old amps switch ohms (cant find it)? Will it be a problem pairing it with my orange 4x10" cab (8 ohms)? I just read the amp is 4 ohms. Thanks for any help.

According to the manual for the Mark III Centurion at the Peavey site - https://assets.peavey.com/literature/manuals/80307000.pdf - the amp is rated at 130 watts at 4 ohms. That means you can use any cab rated down to 4 ohms with it. So, yes, your 8 ohm Orange is fine. You can even add another 8 ohm cab to your Orange for a total resistance of 4 ohms.
