I have a Peavey Model 215 (not the black widow version) and the speakers are on their way out.
I'm either thinking of upgrading the speakers, or getting the Peavey PVH212 instead.
I'm not a fan of 10" speakers and I LOVE my 15's. Only thing it lacks is clarity on the high end. That's where I'm thinking maybe the 12s would help with?
Anyway, should I just upgrade the speakers or spend almost the same amount of money on the PVH212 instead

Those old Peavey cabs were great in their time but The new Peavey PVH 212 is head and shoulders above those old 215's IMHO. The 212 is somewhat darker then the 210 it takes EQ well and the horn in the peavey is second to none in implementation . Most bass cabs with horns need to be turned off but this one is smooth without the sizzle and zing of the others.. It as were all the PVH cabs designed for drop tuning so they will take a lot of lower bass and not protest. Once mine were broken in they opened up some and they sound good with recorded music playing through them . Most bass cabs are just crappy at that. All in all they are a very good sounding cab .

The only thing I'm running into now, is that the 215 cab is 4ohms, and the new PVH line is 8ohms. My amp runs 4ohms so with the PVH I'd be running at like 300-ish. Do you think it'd still be powerful?
