Pedal repair. Mysterious power issue

Hello all,

This pedal does not power on. I have had it sitting around a few years and now I am looking for a DIY project so I've pulled it out and taken it apart.

I was hoping it would be a simple solder but alas I can find nothing wrong with it visually, at least to my untrained eye.

All the solders are solid. My next step would be to check that the circuits are passing power to the proper places but I have no idea where to begin there. I do have a multimeter.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Have you tested using a 9V battery and with a DC power supply? Also, many pedals (including this one) have a switch on the input jack that cuts power if there's no cable plugged in.

The 9v leads broke off a while ago. I used this with a power supply for some time. Eventually it stopped working. It was a gradual degeneration until I could no longer get it to power on at all. Before it's death, I remember having to stomp like 20 times to get it to engage.

with that description, it sounds like that tiny switch at the bottom of the PCB is no longer working.

I was going to say...this quickly moved from a 'power issue' to a 'broken switch' issue.

Can I confirm this with a multimeter?

it a momentary switch so you'd have to press and hold it to test its continuity with a multimeter.
