In the process of cleaning out my storage unit, I discovered my old Trace Elliot GP7EQ pedal. I sometimes really miss my old TE gear, but the most defining feature of the old Trace Elliot solid-state sound is that "Preshape" EQ button.

I have not been able to find any precise documentation of exactly what the Preshape button does, but according to what I *have* found, I believe it boosts around 40-50 Hz, cuts around 400-500 Hz, boosts upper mids (i think around 2.5 KHz?), and boosts treble. I can approximate it using the three band parametric EQ on my Mesa Walkabout, but I can't nail it. I can't even quite get it using the GP7EQ's graphic EQ, alone. Close, but not 100%.

(I have the description copied from. Trace Elliot manual on my laptop, but I'm typing this on my phone.)

So, here's my wish for a new pedal: I'd like a mini pedal with one button, and all that button would do would be to replicate the Trace Elliot classic Preshape EQ. The GP7EQ is 5-6 times the volume of my tc electronic mini pedals and requires an 18 V supply or two 9 V batteries.

Maybe call it "The Green Monster" (nb: not a BoSox fan, but the name fits).

Sounds like something @Azure Skies could pull together for you. I'd suggest contacting him. :)

PRE SHAPE 1 is the classic TRACE ELLIOT EQ as found on Series 6 units the SMX and the SM range of amplifiers, it adds a boost at both the low end (50Hz) and the high end (2 to 5kHz) of the frequency spectrum as well as a cut at mid frequencies (400Hz).

This is the relevant portion of the schematic from a GP7 preamp. IC1 is a TL074 quad opamp.
