Pedulla Buzz switch - what does it do?

Having a look around for a freltess, and have come across a 1996 pentabuzz with the 4-knob pre-amp, but no "buzz" switch (or whatever they call it) on the current generation models.

For anyone who has a Buzz/Penta/Hexabuzz - could you hazard a guess as to what kind of EQ'ing that switch does?

Just wondering whether it might be easier to run the switchless Pentabuzz through an appropriately configured EQ'pedal, rather than trying to find a later model with the switch.

Many thanks :)

That switch was called the Thunderguts switch back in the day. My recollection was that it bumped a bunch of lower mids into the signal. I'm guessing 350 Hz-ish from my recall of gigging the instrument.

Oh, so the "thunderguts" switch that they now have on the ThunderBass/ThunderBolt, is the same mid boost as on the buzz? That's interesting - either way, doesn't look like too difficult to achieve with an EQ pedal :)
