Long story short, I've recently acquired superpowers resulting in more sideman blues gigs and church gigs than I can sometimes handle. Not that I’m complaining. Best part-time job I’ve ever had.

I play a mix of large, small, and outdoor venues. Large venues typically have a house system and a sound tech so I run a line from my Ampeg SCR-DI to FOH and have a small kickback on stage to hear myself (or sometimes in-ears.) I’ve been running 300w to 2x10 for small venues, and 500w to 4x10 for large venues with no system, and for outdoor gigs.

Now to my point, I want to downsize my gear. I want to to just haul around a PF800 + PF210HE. I’m happy to turn down large gigs that don’t provide FOH. But will this rig have enough push for outdoors if I’m not in the FOH? I could always add another 210 extension. But the point of this downsize is I’m lazy and don’t want to haul behemoths around with me anymore.

So, PF800 + PF210HE enough push for outdoor gigs?

I'd have to agree..no way. I had that setup for a while. You're good for the amp, but man that cab just can't deliver a lot of thump before farting out. It was easily outclassed by many a good 1x12. But to be fair, the 1x12's cost quite a bit more than that cab.

This. A second pf210HE will help, but as good as these cabs can sound, they just can't handle a ton of power

I wouldn’t even try o play any size gig with just a 2x10. The lighter load in/out is great until you blow the cabinet trying to get more out of it than it can give.

Agreed, unless you have in-ears and/or monitor wedges to supplement it. I tried a few gigs with the full band with just one 2x10 and decided that it won’t cut it, either on the floor, tilted, or on a stand. I’ve had good luck with an efficient 1x15 cab elevated on a stand, though, as well as a pair of 2x10 cabs stacked.

For me, the question is whether or not the rig will keep up with the drummer's volume. It doesn't make much sense to bury the drummer, especially without monitor support and foh support. We just played a couple of outdoor gigs. One had a great system, and the other was done with our PA. I used a 150 watt tube head for both. For the one we used our PA, I used just a 115, without monitor support, and I was volume matched with the drummer, with headroom to spare, and a di from the head to the board. For the gig with the great foh, I ran a 810, had my head turned down several notches lower to volume match the drummer, and wondered why I just didn't bring the 115. In both cases our sound was on point.

Not enough if your not in the PA. I have one and love the sound but it won't be enough alone.

i have this setup, and i added a 115 to it (pf800,pf210,pf115). it goes pretty loud. that said, i came from a GK rig with 2x410s, and never had any trouble outside. you might consider the pf800 and a pf410, and then add another pf410 to it later. that would be plenty loud.

IMO even a backyard BBQ gig (with no PA support) would require more than a 210 unless your are just soft background music. Anything larger needs FOH support and at least a good 212 IME

I guess you like to thump...I played for at least 4-5 years with just an Eden 210XLT tilted back on top of my rolling amp rack. Never had any trouble hearing or being loud enough for personal monitoring, but we traveled with a high-end PA...with subs, separate monitor mixes for each musician, etc.
