I'm building a bass that will use volume controls for each pickup , and there is one aspect of this that I don't quite get. People seem to use 250k pots , and if you are then going into a valve preamp with a 1m grid leak resistor , it is in parallel with the pots and the combined grid leak resistance comes down to 125k even with a 10m leak resistor.
Which should be too small. Or maybe I've got something wrong?
