You can't get there from here
Took a wool glove and cut the fingers and thumb off. Just below the first knuckle.

Put the glove on my fretting hand.

Played.

Didn't do this because I have allergies or anything. I don't.

Sometimes I think my bass neck is a little on the slim side.

So...wanted to know if a glove as described acts like a shim and makes me play as if the neck was wider, so forth and so on.

Seems to work to a degree. Different than playing without it.

I guess the hand could sweat more if playing in a hot environment but I was playing in a normal temp room.

Not getting rid of any basses...

This was more of an experiment if anything.
