Please help!!! I have no clue what to do!

(Quick version) I have been playing my Ibanez SW100 for the past 15+yrs and it has done very very well. The newest band I am in has started playing bigger venues and we recently obtained a prime spot at sunfest. I am a broke school teacher on a budget and have had great success with ZZounds so naturally, I went there. 3 weeks later my head hurts from all the youtube videos, which don't help because the pros can make a rubber band sound good, and I am still lost.

The contract says we will be using their backline and my fear is I won't be able to hear myself on stage. Is the Veyron M at its alleged 2000w with the 15 and 2 tens going to cut it???? I just need advice but can really only afford from zzounds because of the 12 monthly payments with no credit check thing.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If the contract states that you will be using their backline, then what options do you have? Sounds to me like you’re using their backline, period. Serious question, not trying to be snarky. Do you actually have the option of bringing your own head and/or cabs?

Not snarky at all. We contacted the host company and they have not responded back. I thought exactly what you are saying, but at a gig last week, this guy was there, commenting on my little Ibanez, said his friend's band played in the festival last year and didn't bring his amp because of the backline and apparently they were rude and said "that the backline meant the line from their personal amps to their board.

Dude. Relax.

SunFest is a real deal festival with dozens of bands including national acts.

You will be provided a good amp and wedge monitors.

Don’t go into debt for this. They have your back and they probably won’t let you use your own stuff anyway.

Thanks for that man I appreciate it! I just wish they would respond so that I could have this weight lifted off me!

2nd for not going into that kind of debt for a gig. You've been going great for 15 years, so you know this kind of gig will do you right. And if they don't, then that's on them, and it will be over in 45 minutes. Don't strap yourself for a year for 45 minutes. I bet they wouldn't consider letting you bring your stuff, anyway. Tight schedule.
Have fun at the gig though!

Awesome thank you, guys! For the first time in weeks, I feel like I can catch my breath I've been pulling my hair out over this, can't sleep, can't eat, agitated all the time. I know it a big deal gig so I just want to do the best I can.

Then that company's meaning of backline is different then every other company ever haha backline is exactly what you're thinking...they provide the amp and cab or di.
Edit to add I think your friend has bad info. The term backline is pretty universal in this context.

It certainly never hurts to have a contingency plan or two in your back pocket, especially if you can’t get them to clarify.

Chances are good at a 'backline provided' date (and if you're a supporting act), show up with your own rig and you will probably be quickly informed to not use it and use their rig: It's already inserted into the mains and monitors and ready to go. They are not likely (!) to re-do anything for you. Don't be surprised if they tell you to just plug in and don't turn even ONE knob . . .

Walk out there, plug in, do your best show, and then laugh all the way home about how didn't have to set-up anything !

Awesome thanks man!

Sleep well tonight and Be happy that you made it to SunFest!

You'll do fine. What's the name of your band?

FYI: Backline means the line of amps in back of you. Not what your buddy said. Just take your bass. I guarantee you that the big bands aren't bringing amps along with them.
