I was able to preorder a Scorpio and I'm on the fence about keeping it or selling it at Christmas? I'm primarily a PS4 player who's still rocking a 360 because my favorite game College Hoops 2K8 isn't available on the Xbox One. I wish Microsoft would have released the console next year because most of the games that show it's power will be released then.

I have a counter question. With where phones are today and who knows where they will go and how well they work. Do you think that phones will eventually replace game counsels permanently?

That's a really good question I do think phones will eventually morph into hybrid computer slash entertainment devices. I had to stop and think about how much I use my phone as computer as opposed to my phone and it's not even close my phone wins by a huge margin because The only thing I use my computer for is music production.

I see popular V-Bloggers informing viewers they take, edit, and post all their videos just using the phone.

I never really was a gamer myself; I owned a handful of consoles dating all the way back to Atari (yes I am getting old). I also played a few games on the PC: favorites were Unreal Tournament (the original), Motorcross Madness II & and that motorcycle game where you beat-up the other rides with weapons and stuff. I used to play them all with my ex-wife back in the day.

Big part of the reason I stopped gaming is I wasted so much time on games and I am talking about hours that I could have used playing bass, my dogs, etc.

I am not judging at all but seeing what I can do with the phone today, and I even have a game controller for my phone where I play awesome driving games, I think the end of counsels are coming sooner than people think.

I used to be a huge PC gamer but then old age set in and I went to consoles playing mostly single player games. Unreal Tournament was insanely great but I couldn't keep up with the cheaters and the youngsters.

All Xbox consoles are backwards compatible, so you can play College Hoops 2K8 on the Xbox One. The older games will trigger a compatibility file download, but then you're golden.

The phones are certainly getting close, horsepower-wise. However, call me old-fashioned, but I prefer to play video games and watch movies on a big screen. From a mobility standpoint, I see the benefit of being able to play games wherever, though.

Sadly it's not it didn't make the list of games Microsoft added to it's list of backward compatible games. I think it has something to do with the potential lawsuits that any college sports game has that's why they stopped making them.

Yeah, I remember reading that the NCAA was no longer allowing college players' likenesses to be used in video games in order to remove any legal issues with the schools and the athletes themselves. I kind of wish I'd kept my PS2 just to have the NCAA football games still.

Nothing old fashioned about it. I hear ya but I think they need to take the technology and evolve. So instead of watching a movie on your phone, how about having an adapter that allows a HDMI cable plug into it so you can see it on a TV?

Instead of selling GPS's in cars, instead sell something that allows you plug your phone into it, then the GPS on your phone is now showing on the same screen/spot that you would normally have the built-in GPS.

Games, well again having a controller and then plug the phone into the TV. Portability and this already exists, your phone in the game controller.

I think I used some of that cheat stuff to get better at things so I would have more playing time to figure it out BUT when I played online I didn't go cheat and I would be lucky if I lasted 3-seconds and that is not an exaggeration. These kids are so good at these things makes you wonder if we could use the games to educate the kids where would they be in mental ability. Now I see kids not even able to calculate change on the fly.

With a lot of apps (YouTube, Facebook Video, and SoundCloud), you can now hit a button within it to port it to your TV wirelessly. Both devices just have to be on the same network. We do that a lot.

The infotainment system in my wife's Ford Edge can do that.

I know and do it too where I have Roku and Fire Stick & Box at the home. But my idea is for the person that doesn't have such things. My mom still has a tube TV and literally asked me if it's HIGH DEFINITION. I said to my mom you bought that decades before high definition even existed. Just to give you an idea on how people still do not have stuff to do it. Granted in her case I can't even use the HDMI idea.

Remember this? I thought it was a great idea.

A few games have been released that already show its power. 4K resolution at 70 to 90 fps on Forza. That is highly impressive for a console that runs only $499 and probably less in 2 years.
