Price of Vintage/Older Peavey Basses

Recently I've been on the hunt for a Peavey Unity Dyna Bass. It has been like finding a needle in a haystack! I only found 2 and the price for both was north of $800. While searching I found the Dyna model in the $5-$600 range. Another Peavey bank whose price dropped my jaw is the T-40. These are listing in the $2k range. On this site I hear repeated praise of the Cirrus but most are not commanding the expensive (IMHO) prices that they Dyna/Unity and T-40 are. What' up with these prices. Should I pull the trigger on the Dyna Unity I've come across or wait until the smoke clears and hope prices drop?

I seriously doubt anybody is paying half that.

Reverb prices are 'an invitation to trade', they're not set in stone. Same story on eBay, there's currently 13 T-40s listed but when you check sold prices not 1 of the last 8 made more than $750. MGR has 5 on their site, prices range from $799 to $1199.

Foundations go in the $350 - $459 range, Furys $200 - $300. Dynabass around $450.

Real shame you're not in the UK, I never play these any more.

USA Cirrus prices are high. Asian Cirrus prices are not.
Check actual PAID prices though.

@kodiakblair Thanks for your reply. Ugh! I just bought a Dyna-Unity from GC for $879. It looks like I may have overpaid! I see that you have the Dyna-Unity Koa which is the one I really wanted. What are you wanting for that one?
