Hello! I received the ampeg ba 110 and notice that vibrates touching the box. It has a distortion that does not keep the clean sound. Not the speakers, but vibrates the wooden box. as I leave the example in the video I found on you tube the same problem.
To try to solve it you put 4 screws to the top where is held the speaker and fill the box with sound-absorbing material (foam rubber type) and improved, but still continues. any suggestions? as it gives me pensa return because the sound I like, it hurts the box vibrates all ...

Take or send it back for a refund if possible. Steer clear of all things ampeg, and buy another brand.

Probably loose padding inside it. If it were me, I'd exchange it, but a lot of times, that problem can be fixed by taking out the speaker, looking for padding that came loose, and reattaching it. Something you shouldn't have to do, though, so I'd exchange it.

Hello, Common problem with this amp. There's another thread explaining this, but can't find it. Fixed it myself yesterday. Problem is that the baffle board (the wooden piece that holds the speaker) is not properly fixed to the rest of the cabinet.

After you have removed the power cord and if you remove the speaker from the baffleboard (careful not to break the wires) you can feel or see (using a mirror) that there are a few tiny pieces of "wood" (it is some sort of MDF/pressed fiber about 4X1X1 inch) with staples that are supposed to mount the baffle board to the rest of the cabinet. In my case the top of the baffle board was loose from the rest of the cabinet, causing the baffle board to rattle at certain frequencies.

At the moment I started to tilt the cabinet backwards, or had it lying on the floor with the speaker pointing towards the sky, I discoverd the rattling was diminished, simply because of the weight of the speaker pressed the baffle board more tightly to the pressed fiber board strips.

Remedy:

I removed the fiber board strip on the top of the baffle board and replaced it by a longer strip of dense / strong wood. Used glue and a bunch of srews to have a rock solid connection between baffle board and the rest of the cabinet. Screws going from the front of the baffle board into my piece of dense wood and screws going from the inside of the cabinet through the wooden strip to the top of the cabinet. Did add extra strips on the left, right and bottom part of the baffle port as wel. Bottom part is a bit tricky , since the venting ports are there. Just make sure the baffle board is solidly mounted.
My problem was solved, hope this helps
