PRS SE Kingfisher Question

Hi folks!
For some reason a store over here is always selling PRS basses for unbelievable cheap. As you can check here I already bought a PRS SE Kestrel and modded it, and the thing is just a joy to play
Now they are selling a Kingfisher at 720 u$s (cheaper than sweetwater), while other stores price it 1636 u$s (import taxes are huge over here). So I guess they are just forgetting to update their prices

I've always wanted a Stingray, but I'm also looking for a classic precision
So I'm thinking about buying the Kingfisher, replacing the neck pickup with a precision pickup, and throwing a pickguard to cover the holes
My luthier pointed out that the distance between the bridge pickup and the bridge are different in the Kingfisher and a regular Stingray
See pics:

So, any of you own a Kingfisher? If so, how close does the bridge pickup sound to a classic Stingray?
Thanks!

I keep looking for one to try at GC but they don't have them in the store. Bass Gear mag profiled two of them but not this model. Both graded out good-to-great. This is the one I'm most interested in. Gorgeous and simple. Just buy it.

I've tried one at the local dealer & actually think they have more grunt to them than a StingRay, but TBH I've never really liked StingRays.
If only it was about 500 Grams lighter, I'd have taken it home by now.

It's good value for money, especially for a neck-through.
Many will claim the neck-throughs have less "bite", but I did not notice that with this model.

I had one and sell it quickly. I Don’t appreciate it. Mine had a defect, it was written Kestrel instead of Kingfisher on the head.
They didn’t have success in Europe, you can find one for 350-400€, approximatively 400-450$.

So, did you not like it (tone, feel, weight, etc.?). I assume you didn’t sell it just because the truss rod cover had the wrong name on it.
