QSC RMX 1450 dip switch settings

Just getting a QSC RMX 1450 amplifier to power my Ampeg SVT IIP preamp, I am wondering what the best settings are for proper operation. It will be pushing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF or an Ampeg SVT 810E (both 4 ohm).
Best DIP switch settings ?
Stereo, parallel or bridged mode ?
XLR or jack connections from preamp to amp ?

Id try one side to see if it "gets you there" first before bridging. I prefer XLR. Is there a HPF 30hz or 50hz? If so, Id try them. Just my 2 cents

As said above, try parallel mode to one channel and see if it pushes enough air for you. If not, go bridged.

I third that! Run one side first (parallel) and see if that gets enough power before you bridge the unit and get too much power. I am not sure of the exact DIP switches on that unit, but HPF for 30 hz and 50hz if available.

Haven’t used my RMX1450 in years, but loved it. Set the HPF to 50 on both channels, and no need to bridge the channels - but do have them share the input signal. Can’t remember if there was a switch for that, or if I had to jumper the leads on the channel inputs? Like I said, its been a while.

With two channels, you can run down to 4 ohms on each channel. I gigged mine without FOH support, and never had to thrn up the volume. Bridging to 1,400 watts was completely unnecessary for me.

I would try 1 cabinet on one channel first. In parallel mode, it won't matter which of the 2 outputs you use.

For this, the dip switch settings are:

Parallel mode (I think this is 3 switches), and on both channels limiter on, HPF on and set to 30Hz. The input level control must be turned up on the channel you are using.

You can try the 50 Hz position, but that might be too much rolloff.

Bridge operation is a little more complicated, so try this first.

I loved using 2 channels on this amp with 2 cabs - then adjusting the volume of each independently. But that’s true for most stereo power amps.

I bought an affordable lightweight Crown amp a while back - but it just didn’t have the umph or body of the RMX. Dunno why, but there was a definite sound difference. The RMX is a heavy sucker to move around, but always sounded great. (and runs for hours at high volume without issues - some budget amps overheat after a bit and go in to protect mode)
