Hey guys, looking for some help here...
We have recently purchased the Ui24 digital mixer and so far it seems to be working out well...
This questions related to recording..
We have recorded some tracks onto an external hard drive but seems like the tracks are only accessible when the external hard drive is connected to the mixer and using the soundcraft mixer interface..
When browsing through the hard drive, I cannot see any files... even when looking for hidden files.. the only way to access these files seems to be through the soudncraft interface/player only.. What am I missing?

Thank you

Hi, sorry it seems like your query is being kind of overlooked.

I don't have a Ui24R, but I've had some experience with multitrack recording on the QSC Touchmix 16. I did some looking around on the Interwebs, and it appears that they intend for you to access the files via the mixer's control web interface. The support videos infer that you can drag-and-drop the files from the web interface if you are wanting to export them to a DAW.

This not to say that the (hidden) files cannot be accessed directly, but I haven't the equipment to troubleshoot. I would say this, though: Although you can access the multitrack files that the QSC writes, their format is not very intuitive. QSC actually wrote an app for exporting the files into an intelligible set of audio files. I know that Soundcraft has a "UI Session Maker" app; but it appears only to be for putting multitrack files onto the USB drive for play on the mixer (i.e. an 'import' app; not an 'export' app).

Bottom line as best I can tell without having access to the mixer: Export the files using the mixer's interface. Hope this helps (or at least bumps this message to the attention of someone more experienced with the Ui24R).

Good luck!

No experience using an external hard drive on my UI-24. I record to the REC USB Port onto a high performance USB stick. The files are stored in a session folder and are readily available to an OS. oS/X or Win 10 in my case.

If you have not joined the Facebook UI-24 group, you should. That is where the majority of suppprt seems to be being delivered. The Product Manager is there daily.
