hello lowenders !!

i hope you are all doing well during these crazy times, as we begin to open up from the lockdowns and get back to normal.. its time to hit the stage !!

so ! i was wondering if ya can lend a hand..

i have a bbe sonic maximizer, tech 21 rbi and a tc electronics bh250,

but i am running small pedal board, which goes from my bass to the volume pedal, through my chain then out to my bbe channel A input, how do i put the rbi in the pathway..

any and all help would be appreciated.. thanks all and god bless

If it were me and I absolutely needed to hook all of that up I would go from your bass to the pedalboard. From there I would plug the output of the last pedal into the front panel input of the RBI. I would then put the BBE in the effects loop of the RBI and play with the 50/50 switch. In truth I would just get rid of the BBE entirely but that’s just me. You would then send the RBI output to whatever the destination is (ie your preferred 1/4” out into an amp, your preferred XLR to a desk or interface, etc.).

Exactly all of this.

Bass--> Pedal Board--> Last pedal to RBI --> RBI XLR to Sound Bpard and RBI 1/4" to stage amp.

I too would not use a sonic maximizer. But rock it if you dig it.

What are you using the RBI for? Is it a preamp that is duplicating the function of the TC BH250 preamp? Or are you using it as a fuzz/distortion effect? How complicated are you willing to be with your routing? I ask, because if you're using the RBI as fuzz/distortion FX, I'd want that before any delay, chorus, verb, phaser so that the distorted sound is feeding into those FX, and not the other way.

Consider a delay FX. If you put it before distortion, the sound of the repeats will start distorted, but fade to clean as the level drops. If you put the delay after the distortion, then the delay is the same distorted sound, but just gets quieter. There are great uses for both, but normally the latter is the sound people want.
