Yes Arbutus is great, I'm down in Victoria but love to stop in there when I get a chance. Was going to post this. I live nearby and go there regularly. This guy gets some pretty rare & fab gear for a small city store near the end of the supply chain. The owner also showed me his '69 jetglo 4001 that he let me play - so nice!

So he brought it in there for them to sell before he had any idea what it was worth? Ha. I once nearly had a deal on a bunch of rare old synth and bass gear (including the Roland synth bass that your homie Dave from Moths & Locusts ended up with) for $2500 before someone else informed the guy who had listed it on CL at that price what it was worth and outbid me. I didn't even get a chance to counter...Went to the store to check it out yesterday but apparently the owner of the bass took it back to have it appraised, and was valued at around $100 000. Yowza!

Here’s a extremely rare 16 of 25 made, 1938 Rickenbacker upright bass
How does someone appraise a bass so rare it never changes hands. it is an emotional buy????Went to the store to check it out yesterday but apparently the owner of the bass took it back to have it appraised, and was valued at around $100 000. Yowza!
