I just bought a re-issue tele bass this past weekend and if it was a US or even close to being vintage I wouldn't do this but I think I'm pretty close to hating how it sounds and I'm sure my band will also.
so wondering if anybody has ever had one re routed for Precision pickups and if so does the stock tele pickup hole line up where the basic P routing placement would be (for a American standard) or is there some offset needed that would leave part of the tele hole opening, also can I re-use the original tele V/T knobs with the new pickups or are the pots different too and would effect the sound.
