I took the Pickguard off my 4003S Ric, to shield its innards AND perform the RWRP procedure. Now, I'm putting it all back together and find that I have a pair (2) SPRINGS left over. I've already replaced the two LARGER springs that are part of the BRIDGE Pickup assembly, but there doesn't seem to be sufficient space between the Pickguard and Chrome Surround of the NECK pickup to similarly insert the two mystery Springs there. Do these Springs go BENEATH the Neck PUP's Screws and Magnet and simply sit flush against the cavity? Do they go elsewhere, altogether? Someone please respond ASAP, as I'd like to put the RIC back together already and see how the RWRP and Shielding improvements have reduced the noise.

Pics? I did the exact same operation this last weekend with my 4003SW. Quite the painstaking process to do cleanly. Note: the neck pickup has two rubber washers, not springs. I’m thinking mute...

Apologies to everyone who troubled themselves for as much as a minute to ponder the "mystery of the leftover springs" for me.

See, I'd been up all day AND the night before, shielding the pick-guard and cavities, attempting the RWRP, AND removing RICKENBACKER's problematic Stock Bridge in order to replace it with a far more, and easily, adjustable Bridge by HIPSHOT.

By the time I was ready to reassemble the Bass from all the parts and pieces at hand, I'd forgotten that those two springs were part of the Stock Bridge. Only after getting a few hours sleep, did I realize where the springs must have come from -- Yes, Radapaw and Koshcei -- they're from the two Screws that raise and lower the Mute!

I should have immediately come back to this site to say "nevermind"and thank you, but I'm doing so now. Cheers, all.
