Recent Morley optical volume pedal questions

I am looking for a volume pedal - preferably a Morley optical pedal. Anyone have any experience with the the PVO and 20/20?

Is there any functional difference between them?[1]

Is there any reason not to run either between the pedalboard and amp, rather than between instrument and pedalboard?

(I sent Morley support the last two questions. We'll see how quickly they get back to me.)

[1] It looks like the 20/20 is just flashier, and replaces the PVO, since the latter is no longer on the website. But that's just my guess.

There is no functional difference. The 20/20 is just smaller and bright green.
The 20/20 can go anywhere in the chain with no impedance or signal level issues.
