Hi,
Im looking to get a small portable combo. I bough an Eden Ec10 for its size, but had to return it due to couple of issues(weird resonance buzzing of speaker). Im looking towards a Redsub BE50 amp. There is not much info on this brand, but maybe there are some UK/EU members here that have tried it?

I know its a "home-brand" of gear4music. For those in the USA: Gear4music is like thomann, only basses in the UK.

Im drawn to this combo because of the EQ features: Graphic eq, bright switch (not sure if i will need a contour and whatever their interpertation of colour is). There is also a kickback line of this brand, BP80 , which has an 12" speaker which i think is a safer bet regarding producing low-end. Unfortunately doesnt have all the nice eq stuff on there(only a 4 band low- lo mid hi mid -Treble).

Edit: I want to use it for an acoustic ensemble. The price of ~150 euro doesnt seem too bad either.

TL; DR: Anyone have experience with this brand?

No experience. Maybe look at the Carvin combos. Some of them have 9 band graphic EQ. Unless you are out of the country and shipping and import taxes are prohibitive.
I saw the heat sink fins poking up out of the top of the amp you included. Not a big fan of that! Easy to snag your skin?
Also don't care for the cord wrap posts being on top. Someone might try to use it as a handle and pick up the amp by the power cord when it's wrapped on the posts. With odd designs like that, you gotta wonder what shortcuts they may have taken internally where you can't see.

Im inside my country. And buying within EU does not yield additional fees.
The eq section of carvin looks nice, parametric lo mid and high mid like the rmi basswitch. Unfortunately they are not sold in EU.

Resurrecting an old thread... I bought one of these a couple of years ago as B-stock from Gear4music.

The EQ is fantastic, very easy to get a sweet tone. Having the controls on the top make it vulnerable to dust so a cover is recommended. It sounded so good it seemed a shame to limit its use to just home practice though sometimes one 10" speaker just isn't enough air movement but it doesn't have an external speaker option. Because I bought it as B-stock, I wasn't too worried about opening it up to fit an external speaker socket. Because the internal speaker is 4ohm, I fitted a socket that cuts out the internal speaker. I had to use it as a backup once and it held its own powering a Hartke 4x10.

One thing did surprise me... finding the printed circuit boards printed with the name 'Ibanez'. It seems these boards have links to the Promethean range (the Redsub BT5110 combo and the Promethean 5110 combo seem pretty much the same beast), made in the same Chinese factory perhaps but it probably explains why it sounds so good.

It seems they're out of stock/discontinued so if you see a BE50 for sale, you'll thank yourself for buying it.
