Renewing supporting membership, via Paypal...

The Paypal window opens and,
instead of already having my payment methods in there with the default preselected, as usual,
it asks me to add a payment method. But they already have the numbers for two credit cards and I don't want to add another or to re-enter the numbers.
Does anyone know why it does this?

Instead of monthly recurring, I chose to pay for a whole year, and Paypal then behaved as expected.

I contacted admins for a help request. As of Aug. 3rd my account was charged for monthly supporting membership just as always but yesterday evening (the 4th) my account shows I need to "upgrade to have a supporting membership." What about the previous $4 that was deducted though. I would at least expect that to credit towards the yearly subscription of $35 even if say, we are required to have different payment circumstances now; yearly versus monthly amount. And why was no notice given about this chang All of a sudden I am not a supporting member overnight???? Right after my monthly subscription went through?

I'm trying to turn off my upgraded account and can find no way of doing that. Pored over the site and can't find mention of it anywhere.

@LandWaterSky, I believe that going into Paypal and just terminating the recurring payment there, is the way to do that. That's what I did last time.
