Thought I'd post some repairs made to two of my basses by Prana Guitars which builds guitars and refinishes guitars. The owner was great to deal with. He worked in my two repairs between some bigger projects as well as tried something out he wanted to improve on and experiment with. I think it turned out great.
I had purchased two Dean basses. One NOS demo from a Sam Ash that was never sold. Looked great in Reverb pix, but due to inadequate bubble wrap it got a substantial gouge/divot. Luckily the rest of the bass was fine. The price was such a deal with Sam Ash that I didn't bother to haggle about the damage due to inadequate packaging.
The other was also a Dean. A Dean Demonator 4. It was a gigged bass and had some war wounds. Also got it for a real deal. The war wounds from weekend warrior gigging were pretty substantial. The rest of the bass is fine.
Here's a vid and some pix.
