Replacement pick guard for Squier VM P Bass

Hi,
A couple of days ago I bought a P Bass body. ( Seller says it's probably A Squier VM) I want to get a black pickguard for it. I have looked on E-bay and Amazon and according to some of the sellers there, a regular Fender 13 hole P bass pickguard is not going to fit.
So far I just have the photo of the body I bought with a white pick guard, and it is a 13 hole as well. It really looks the same, but I want to find out here if somebody else has had problems matching pickguards on a Squier.

Pickgaurds are pretty tricky, Check out Warmouth, They have a very decent buying guide for finding the correct pickgaurd. Most of the time when I'm installing a new pickgaurd I have to fill some of the old screw holes and drill new holes to accommodate the new pickgaurd.

"It depends." There's no real guarantee since not all Squiers are the same and they may vary from year to year. IMHO, the most likely outcome is that the pickguard is the same shape or close enough, but that the screw hole locations might be different (you can always drill a few new holes). Warmoth has nice PDF pickguard templates on their site in the pickguard section that should match the official Fender shape. Once you get the bass, print out a Warmoth template and see how it matches up.

I was more concerned with the actual shape of the pickguard around the neck pocket and where the control cavity is.I don't want to have any gaps there and the pickup routing needs to match of course. The bass is always going to have a pickguard, so matching the holes is not as important.
