Replacement Speaker

I have been using an Ampeg BA115 for practice for 20 years and the little guy is finally starting to fart around on me. I want to replace the speaker but I'm having trouble finding a direct replacement for what the manual says is in there. Specifically, a 15”, 150 w, 4 ohm, 2.5” voice coil dia., 56 oz. magnet.

However, I did find a used-very good condition Fender 15" Vintage Bass Amp Eminence G2 Speaker BXR 300W 4 ohms. Will this work or does anyone have another suggestion and where I might get it?

Thanks!

The specs you listed aren't really the important specs. What you need to know is how a speaker will work in the box you have with the porting you have. That information is contained in the TS parameters plus some math.

Do you even know for sure that the speaker is the cause of your symptoms? Age is generally not a determining factor.

Thanks for all of your replies. I have not tried patching the effects loop. I have also not reached out to Ampeg for any information. Being an old practice amp I just wanted it to play and not sound like crap. And no, I do not know for sure that it's the speaker. I guess I should start with the suggestion to patch the loop, then maybe take a look inside for any apparent damage. And since I dont have the TS parameters for that replacement I found, I guess math would be pointless. But I seem to have put the cart before the horse, so to speak.... I should probably determine a cause before proceeding. I guess I'll need to bring it home from the practice space for a while for testing and use something else for now. Thanks again everyone!
