Replacing covers on a DiMarzio model J

My new-to-me 50th. Anniv. Jazz has Dimarzios in the cream covers. I like the p/u's but not the color. I believe they are epoxied in. True? Anybody tried to take them off? Will a regular J cover fit, if I do get them off, or should I order some from DiMarzio?

I replaced covers on an old Model P. Not epoxied, it looks like hot glue... I carefully scored around the edges with a scalpel, and it popped right out. I'm not sure if they still use that method, but I've read others did something similar just fine...
