Rickenbacker should have your horseshoe. Aceonbass or Rickenbacker will set you up with a wiring harness. Now since this is a copy of a Rick can you be sure the horseshoe will fit in it? Not only that the pickups are not cheap so do you want to invest a few hundred in a copy bass?

Well I guess in one way your both right about investing money into a copy. A friend played it the other day, and said he was really taken back on the quality of the workmanship and sound . But he did point out that they had wired it as a Les Paul would be. Would you suggest I just change the wire Harness only, or would that not work with these pickups thats in there now ? Sorry I have to ask,but I really know nothing at all about these things .

I would have no idea, but more than likely you would have to change everything out, and just changing the harness wouldn't help the sound really.

Yer to be honest thats what I thought, but as i say because I know nothing Just thought I would ask. But again as my friends said ,he was really surprised at how good the sound was. I guess its just me wanting it to be even better . But thanks for your reply I do appreciate you taking time to reply.

No problem! Enjoy it as is,it looks like a solid instrument. Who is the maker on that bass, if you can tell? Some older copies were pretty nice! And if you can find a tech or someone with Rick experience maybe they can help you out more than we can here!

I like the bridge! The wood is a lot different, they use basswood, Rick uses maple. I like how they use Chris Squire's photo to sell the fake bass! I'm surprised John Hall hasn't cracked down on these copies. Maybe he isn't aware. Anyway enjoy your bass! If it sounds good and is comfortable for you to play have at it! Someday I hope you can afford the real thing if that's your desire! They are expensive and I'm sure more so where you are located.

O Yes ! I seen a Chris Squire Limited Edition on Ebay here in the Uk two weeks ago. It was starting price £3,700. but no one bid on it. To be completely honest with you i have never played bass in my life. The first time I held one was when this one arrived. I really need to look around for a good teacher. We have lots of bass players here in Cardiff ,But being a good Bass Player dont always make you a good teacher.

If they are overseas in a country where they do have trademark/tradedress protections registered, it is impossible to control. Only way to stop it is at the port of entry, but how you gonna do that? It's not like they are easy to spot as in a large container going to Guitar Center. More like one box in a container, AKA needle in a haystack.
