Rickenbacker Pickups

I’ve always been curious, are Ric 4001 and/or 4003 equipped with single coils, or humbuckers? Or both?

The bridge pickups I have seen w/o the cover look like single coils. The toaster neck pickup looks like a humbucker to me though. The non-toaster looks like a single. The horseshoe looks like a split coil maybe? The Seymour Duncan replacement set definitely are humbuckers.

The stock pickups on 4001, 4003, 4005, 3000, and 3001 basses are all single coil of various configurations, but still all single coil. The only humbuckers are the split-coil humbuckers on a 4002, and conventional humbuckers, with different mountings, on the 4004 basses.
