My youngest son really likes the sound of old Gibson Rippers and Grabbers, but he won't be able to buy one in years, so he was thinking about putting Ripper pickups ir Ripper-sounding pickups in his maple necked Epi Thunderbird IV which feels great to play and sound good acoustically, but plugged in it sounds less inspiring.
Has anyone here tried Ripper pickups in other basses?
Who makes Ripper pickups apart from SD's Custom Shop?
Are there perhaps any Ripper/Grabber-sounding alternatives out there. Perhaps even in TB Soapbar size to avoid routing the body?
