Rock without guitars but with drums, bass, keyboards and saxophone

Hi guys, I have just released my debut album PURSUITS IN 1IFE and I think you're going to find it very interesting as it's a rock music without guitars. Instead there is bass, drums, keyboards and saxophone. As the record is heavily based on bass, I've used a lot of pedal effects making this record a pretty unique listening experience. Check out my first single where you'll find all the links, where the record's available. :)

In this song I've used mainly Cali76 CB compressor with B7K overdrive and in the chorus I added a chorus from Strymon's Mobius with a subtle analog delay from H9 :)

Let me know, what you think about it and if you like it, spread the word so that everybody knows about this :)

Well done!

Like the song and the video production is well done.

The only thing I found "odd" was that everyone else in the band looks "bored" in the video. Now, if that was an artistic choice and intentional, well done! If not, those guys could stand to perk up some. :D

Didn't miss guitar at all.

agree about them looking bored. None of them are rockers so I guess that might have something to do with that :D Thanks for the opinion :)

Nicely done!

Not using guitars isn’t a detriment to a good song. And that’s a very good song. I wish you success.

Back in the 70s I was in a rock band. Standard setup for that era - two guitars, bass, drums and vocals.

We were approached by a slightly odd guy. Being odd wasn’t a problem since most musicians were slightly odd back then. He was an incredible clarinet player. And he wanted to audition for the band. He kept saying people didn’t appreciate all the great things a clarinet could do for rock music.

I wanted to addition him. The other four members of the band didn’t.

Glad to see your band has the courage to try something different.

Thanks a lot :)

I’m playing in a band where there is just bass, drums and rhythm acoustic and vocals.
It’s surprisingly full sounding and it works; tons of room for the rhythm section to move around.
Haven’t had any complaints and the gigs keep coming.
Go ahead and redefine what a rock band is
